Poster Presentation Session: Ending violence for people at the intersections of risk and exclusion: how new research can help ensure no one is left behind | Poster Area

Throughout 2026, the United Nations Spotlight Initiative and GenderSphere will identify practical ways to uphold LNOB in EVAWG programming, programme governance and partnerships. It will broadly identify what works, what gaps remain and how LNOB can be better applied in EVAWG programmes across diverse contexts.

Following the launch of its Sustainability Report, the UN Spotlight Initiative is convening partners, practitioners, policymakers, experts and activists to bridge the gap between sustainability in theory and practice. Parallel Session: Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence: Harms, Responses, and Engagement Across Digital Contexts - How to leverage gamification and digital influence to engage men and boys in ending gender-based violence, in partnership with Equimundo | Ballroom B

Spotlight Initiative and Equimundo will premiere Sync or Storm, a new interactive game designed to help prevent violence against women and girls before it starts. Gaming is an increasingly influential space where young people form attitudes about gender, relationships and social norms, yet its potential for violence prevention remains largely untapped. The session will explore how platforms such as Roblox can be used to engage young people, men and boys, while addressing the risks associated with digital spaces. It will also highlight opportunities to build new partnerships among gender-based violence practitioners, digital creators and gaming platforms.

Poster Presentation Session: Sustaining Impact: How to Sustain Seed Investment in EVAWG Programming | Poster Area

The poster explores how sustainability has been achieved across different countries and regions, highlighting the conditions that have helped results endure beyond programme closure. Spotlight Initiative will share findings from its report, which draws on the experiences of more than 100 representatives from women’s rights organizations, government, traditional leadership and civil society. Designed as a learning exercise and grounded in appreciative inquiry, the report looks at what remains years after programmes have ended — from services and funding to civic space, institutions and government ownership.

Participant-driven event: Advancing Evidence, Partnerships and Action on EVAWG, Harmful Practices and SRHR in Africa: The SIARP 2.0 Agenda | Ballroom C

This event brings together donors, regional policymakers and civil society organizations to strengthen connections between research, advocacy and policymaking. Through interactive “Strategy Hubs,” participants will develop evidence-based approaches to address growing pushback against gender equality and identify sustainable financing pathways across Africa. Drawing on the Spotlight Initiative Africa Regional Programme (SIARP) 2.0 blueprint, the session will promote South-South exchange, strengthen the use of evidence in decision-making and advance sustained investment to end violence against women and girls and harmful practices across the continent.
